Job Description - Sr. Mechanical Engineer


WHAT YOUR DAY WILL LOOK LIKE:
  • Support Operations with the manufacturing of parts and finished goods. Mentoring/training activities with production, maintenance & facilities.
  • Product design using Solidworks and implement change using PLM system and tools. This includes ECOs for products and the production equipment needed to mass produce those products.
  • Generate drawings per ANSI Y14.5 standards
  • Assist in problem resolution by applying Lean principles. This includes the use of PFMEA/DFMEA, Cause and Effect Analysis, and other tools
  • Support R&D for technical content of issued designs, patents, specifications, and other intellectual property.
  • Provide assistance to the business for safety compliance.
  • Assist in the evaluation of parts, including incoming inspections and testing as deemed necessary.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to perform DFM for tooled parts.

THE EXPERIENCE YOU WILL NEED:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field (minimum 7 years of engineering experience) in product design or manufacturing, or evidence of exceptional ability.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in manufacturing. Automation equipment preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience with injection mold part design. A deep understanding of thermoplastics is preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience with ERP/MRP, PLM, CAD Modeling (Solidworks), Drawings per ANSI Y14.5 standards, Microsoft Office,
  • Demonstrated experience with project management.
  • Demonstrated experience with Finite Element Analysis.
  • Lean Six Sigma Green belt or higher preferred.
  • Knowledge of ISO Standards is preferred.
  • Experience with PLC’s and ladder logic, function blocks, and structured text preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to work with individuals at all levels of the organization.
     

PHYSICAL WORKING EXPERIENCE:

  • Working in an office; standing for extended periods of time and operating warehouse equipment where environmental conditions range from 50 to 90-degree temperatures.
  • Requires the use of hands for simple grasping and fine manipulations.
  • Requires bending, squatting, crawling, climbing, and reaching.
  • Requires the ability to lift, carry, push, or pull medium weights, up to 50 pounds.
